An Eating Map for New York Taxi Drivers

Is it true that taxi drivers can’t eat well while they’re on duty? Yes and no.
After three weeks of hacking in New York, I can understand what might drive a cabbie to go to McDonald’s: it’s fast, it’s cheap, there’s a bathroom, and there’s usually parking nearby.
As a new member of Gotham’s hacking tribe, I’d like to think I can find places that fit this description that aren’t McDonald’s. Enter my new food map for New York cabbies.
Every spot you see on this map (which I’ll be updating as I make new discoveries) features good-tasting eats that also meet the following criteria:
- The chosen dish(es) cost less than $10.
- The place is located less than a 5-minute walk from free parking and/or a taxi stand.
- There’s a bathroom on the premises or nearby (Ideal but not required, as some cabbie-friendly spots are street vendors).
Cabbies and civilians, if you have any suggested additions to this map, please feel free to send them to layne@taxigourmet.com.
